Before joining Transworld, JD built his career in commercial real estate finance and private credit, where he was responsible for sourcing, underwriting, closing, and managing investments—predominantly in the commercial real estate sector—across a variety of industries. In 2024, he acquired a small business in Dallas through Transworld, gaining firsthand experience with the full deal lifecycle, from diligence and SBA financing to closing and day-to-day operations post-acquisition. He continues to own the business today and oversees it at a strategic level, though his involvement in daily operations has been scaled back. That experience sparked a passion for helping others navigate the complexities of buying and selling a business. JD now focuses on guiding local business owners through successful exits and helping aspiring entrepreneurs acquire businesses with confidence. He holds a finance degree from the University of Texas at Austin and primarily serves clients across the DFW and Central Texas markets. Outside of work, JD enjoys spending time with his wife, Regan, their son, John, and their two dogs, Honey and Rusty. He’s a Longhorn sports fan, recreational athlete (he’s in a softball and flag football league), strategy board game enthusiast, trivia nut, and avid golfer.
